SRX27090847: Short paired DNA-seq of Stegodyphus dumicola: individual from Karasburg in Namibia
1 DNBSEQ (DNBSEQ-G400) run: 69.8M spots, 20.8G bases, 10.1Gb downloads

Design: DNA from all individuals were extracted using the Qiagen Blood and Tissue kit, Qiagen (Hilden, Germany)

Study: Whole genome sequencing of 8 species in Stegodyphus spiders
show Abstracthide Abstract
Stegodpyhus spiders are intriguing organisms in studying the evolution of sociality in spiders. There are 3 known independent transitions to sociality in the Stegodyphus genus. In this project, we sequenced 3 social species S. dumicola, S. mimosarum, S. sarasinorum and their corresponding subsocial sister species S. tentoriicola, S. africanus, S.pacificus. We also sequenced subsocial S. lineatus as the outgroup species and another subsocial species S. bicolor. The whole genome sequencing of Stegodyphus genus provides rich resources in studying sociality evolution in spiders as well as the genomic consequences of inbred sociality.
